Douglas Morton

Douglas has more than 20 years experience in dealing with clients in a variety of industry sectors, including construction, property, media, retail and with the professional services sector for both established companies and new start-ups.

Previously having being a partner in the medium sized independent Edinburgh firm Scott and Paterson, Douglas stayed on through the merger with the multinational Baker Tilly in 2007.  He remained a partner at Baker Tilly until leaving to start up DS Morton, which has since become MacDonald Morton.

Douglas is able to call upon his extensive experience to deliver a personal service to clients in a manner that best aids them in developing their business.

Kevin Macdonald

Kevin is also a member of the association of Tax technicians, with more than 12 years experience in a variety of sectors.  Having trained, qualified and worked with Scott and Paterson, before joining Johnston Carmichael in 2003.  Kevin moved into the private sector in 2007, where he assumed a role of Commercial / Financial Director for Ground Developments Limited, before deciding to return to public practice.  Kevin’s expertise is wide-ranging, taking in businesses as diverse as the construction, retail, manufacturing and music sectors.

Kevin’s experience provides him with an ability to quickly and comprehensively understand the commercial, financial and strategic challenges that clients encounter.  For a number of clients, Kevin already provides the Directors / Proprietors with a key resource that they can tap into as and when required, without the cost of having a full time Commercial / Financial Director.  This affords the benefits of corporation-level expertise for small and medium size companies, without the need to invest heavily, or sacrifice flexibility.
